Mason Jar Madness

If you haven’t jumped on the Mason Jar fan page, it is time to check in!  I’ll admit that I was a little slow to warm up to these little jars, but have recently found myself using them in a variety of ways (drinking, storage, decor).  Today I am doing a SUPER SIMPLE DIY Mason Jar – Flower Pot Tutorial.

Materials Needed:

  • Mason jars
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Flowers (real or fake)
  • Sand Paper/Nail file

1)  Start out with a clean mason jar.  If you need to remove any residue, a little rubbing alcohol can go a long way.DSC_4155-web size

2)  Apply the first layer of acrylic paint.  In this tutorial, I mixed a pink and white acrylic paint to create 3 variations of pink.  Mixing colors is a quick and convenient way to expand your color palette.  Wait for 20 minutes in between coats.

3)  I used 3 coats of acrylic paint to achieve my final product.  If you want to add a ‘distressed’ look, use sandpaper or even a nail file to uncover the 3d lettering [optional].

Arrange your flowers and ENJOY!!
